Melampia does not replace a veterinarian. It makes no diagnosis and prescribes no treatment. For any question about your pet's health, and above all in an emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary service.
Answers are generated by artificial intelligence, from the pet's own documents only. They can be inaccurate or incomplete: a misread document, missing information, a poorly chosen citation. Always check an answer against the cited document.
In the demo (demo.melampia.app), the pets, clinics, veterinarians and documents are fictitious. Do not upload real documents containing personal data: names, addresses, identification numbers.

Personal data
Melampia uses no advertising cookies, no audience measurement and no user accounts.
In the demo
- Session: on your first visit, your browser receives a session token, kept in its local storage. It gives access to your own copy of the demo. The session expires after 24 hours.
- Uploaded documents: the PDFs you add, the text extracted from them and their index are visible to you only. They are deleted, along with your whole copy of the demo, within minutes of the session expiring.
- Questions: your questions are not stored by Melampia. They are sent, with the document excerpts needed for the answer, to OpenAI, which generates the answer.
- IP address: it is used to limit the number of sessions opened, to protect the service against abuse, and kept for two hours at most for that purpose. Hosting providers may also log it for their own security needs.
Service providers
- OpenAI (United States) indexes the documents and generates the answers. Under its API terms, OpenAI does not use this data to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
- Railway and Cloudflare (United States) host the service, as described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces: your browser downloads them from Google's servers, which then receive your IP address.
Your rights
This processing is based on the publisher's legitimate interest in presenting the service and protecting it against abuse. You have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your data: write to [email protected]. Since demo data is deleted after 24 hours, the simplest way to remove it is to let the session expire.
You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Intellectual property
The Melampia name, logo, texts and interface belong to the publisher. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited.
